Etalase Negara yang Terbengkalai

It has been 2 years since my first visit in this place, the youngest province in Indonesia. I bet, 2 years ago, some of you didn’t notice that there was new province in Indonesia, right? Haha, so did I.

Honestly, I’ve never heard Kaltara until I joined in this project, making Regional Long-Term Development Plan 2005-2025, a collaboration of Regional Development Planning Agencies (Bappeda) with my University in 2014.

Two years later, and suddenly I got an “invitation” to go to this place for the second time. Wow. I don’t believe it. Not same, but similar, arranging regional mid-term development plan, a continued program from the 2014 project.

And here I was 2 weeks ago. I still believe that always something fantastic to experience. Different friends made a different “adventure and journey”.

Hallo Tanjung Selor, I meet you again! And do you know? Since I’ve stayed here for several days before, my friends treated me as a NATIVE and i fell like their guide.

“So, Where we’ll go first Din?”,
“Ok, so where should we eat tonight?”,
“Is the food in this ‘warung’ delicious?”,
“if we take this direction, is it right or not?”,
“where is the location of Rambutan Street?”
“Where did the government offices move?”

And the required question every time and every day is “so, where will we eat now?” hahaha, it was so funny!

but..

I was so surprise to know that YOU’ve developed so fast. (So sorry i didn’t capture the pict!)

I really remember, first time, when i rode motorcycle around the city, suasana jalanannya sangat sepiii, sepii sekali untuk ukuran jalan lebar seperti ring road kalau di jogja. Rasanya seperti jalan milik sendiri.

And now, mobil sudah lalu lalang di mana-mana, so many stores along the road, so many people visit your place every day, and so many new office buldings, your night life is not gloomy again so I can more easily find a place or “warung” for dinner. And the Crown Hotel is full booked! Sebagai hotel paling nge-hits se-Bulungan, I’m so sad to know that damn fact! But, honestly from the deepest of my heart, I’m glad to see that. As a capital city from the newest province, you have to run in super high speed so that you can stand beside your older brothers proudly, or maybe you will pass them in the future.

I tried all kinds transportation, small plane, mini speed boat (Read: Sepit), medium Sepit, and the big one. To cross the big river, people usually use Ketinting, and you only need IDR 5K/person. And you can bring your motor cycle on it! wow it was an amazing fact for me.

Ride a Ketinting in Sungai Kayan: Mission Completed! Cita-cita 2 tahun lalu yg akhirnya tercapai juga. Alhamdulillah.

The creation of this province is the best choice, since the East Kalimantan (the mother province) was toooo wide, so some areas which located far away from a center of government seperti kurang dilirik dan kurang mendapat perhatian.

This Province itself is an answer for our question about the Indonesian window in the borderline. Having a big potency, I hope, we hope.. that you’re really the answer..
